At Reszi, we believe the American Dream of homeownership should feel within reach. Our Stepping Stone to the American Dream® program is designed to help make that possible.

For many families, renting a home is an important chapter in life. It provides the flexibility to pursue new opportunities, settle into a community, raise a family and plan for the future. But for those who dream of owning a home someday, the journey can feel overwhelming.

Saving for a down payment, establishing credit and navigating the mortgage process are just a few of the challenges that can stand between renting and owning. At Reszi, we believe renting should be a positive part of that journey.

That’s why we created Stepping Stone to the American Dream®, a program that helps our Reszidents build a stronger financial foundation while enjoying the benefits of living in a quality, professionally managed single-family rental home. It’s an important part of who we are as a company, and it’s something we want every Reszident to know about.

What Is Reszi's Stepping Stone to the American Dream® Program?

Stepping Stone to the American Dream® is Reszi’s resident-focused initiative designed to make renting more rewarding while providing support for those who eventually want to purchase a home.

The program brings together several benefits that can help eligible Reszidents improve their credit history, reduce certain housing expenses and prepare for homeownership.

Not every Reszident plans to purchase a home, and that’s perfectly fine. We want our residents to love where they live, whether they stay with Reszi for a few years or make renting their long-term choice.

But when homeownership becomes the next goal, we want to help make that transition easier.

Five Ways Reszi Helps Reszidents Prepare for Homeownership

1. Building Credit Through On-Time Rent Payments

For most families, rent is one of their largest monthly expenses. Yet historically, those payments haven’t always helped renters establish the credit history they need when applying for a mortgage.

Reszi helps change that by reporting eligible on-time rental payments to credit bureaus.

This gives qualifying Reszidents an opportunity to build a positive payment history through something they’re already doing: paying rent.

A stronger credit history can be an important step toward future financial goals, including qualifying for a home loan.

2. Helping Qualified Reszidents Save With a Zero-Deposit Option

Moving into a new home often comes with significant upfront expenses. Between moving costs, deposits and furnishing a home, it’s easy for savings to disappear quickly.

Reszi offers a zero-deposit program for qualified applicants, helping reduce the cash needed at move-in.

For a family working toward homeownership, keeping more money in savings today could make a meaningful difference tomorrow.

3. Connecting Reszidents With Mortgage Resources

Buying a first home can be confusing, especially for someone who has never gone through the mortgage process.

Where do you begin? How much do you need to save? What does a lender look for?

When eligible Reszidents are ready to explore homeownership, Reszi can help connect them with a trusted mortgage partner and provide a positive rental recommendation.

Our goal is to help residents take that next step with greater confidence and access to the right resources.

4. Providing Lease Flexibility When It's Time to Buy

One of the concerns renters face when purchasing a home is timing. Finding the right property and closing on a mortgage doesn’t always align perfectly with the end of a lease.

We understand that.

Reszidents who have lived in a Reszi home for at least one year and are purchasing a home may qualify for early lease termination with proper notice.

We believe purchasing a home should be a milestone worth celebrating, not something made more difficult by an existing rental agreement.

5. Contributing $5,000 Toward Closing Costs After Five Years

This is one of the benefits we’re especially excited for our long-term Reszidents to know about.

Eligible Reszidents who have rented with Reszi for five years may qualify for a $5,000 contribution toward closing costs when purchasing their first home.

Closing costs can be a significant expense for first-time homebuyers, even after they’ve saved for a down payment.

This benefit is one way we recognize the loyalty of our long-term residents while supporting their next chapter.

Program eligibility, qualifications and applicable terms determine which benefits are available to each Reszident.

Why This Program Matters to Reszi

Reszi was built around a simple belief: people deserve a great place to call home.

We invest in quality single-family rental homes in communities where people want to live, work and raise families. Our focus is on providing the space, convenience and professional management that make renting a positive experience.

But our relationship with Reszidents doesn’t have to end at the front door.

We know that a family’s housing needs change over time. A new job, growing family or financial milestone can create new opportunities. Sometimes that means moving to another Reszi rental home. Other times, it means purchasing a first home.

We want Reszi to be a company that supports those changes.

Stepping Stone to the American Dream® reflects that philosophy. It gives our team a way to do more than provide housing. It allows us to help residents work toward their own definition of success.

Your Next Chapter Starts Here

If you’re currently a Reszident, you may already be taking steps toward homeownership without realizing it.

Your on-time rental payments may be helping establish your credit history. Your time living with Reszi may help you qualify for future program benefits. And when you’re ready to explore buying a home, our team wants you to know what resources may be available.

We encourage every Reszident to learn more about Stepping Stone to the American Dream® and ask our team about the benefits they may qualify for.

Because whether you’re settling into your first Reszi home, raising a family or preparing to purchase a place of your own, we believe your home should help support the life you’re building.
