Unfortunately, rental scams have become increasingly common, with fraudsters impersonating legitimate property management companies to collect personal information or request fraudulent payments. We want every prospective resident to feel confident throughout the leasing process.

Here are five ways to verify that the Reszi listing you’re viewing is legitimate and that you’re communicating directly with our team.

1. Tour Access Is Issued by a Verified Reszi Leasing Agent

To better protect our homes and prospective residents, Reszi no longer issues digital lock codes automatically.

Instead, a verified Reszi Leasing Agent will personally contact you to confirm your tour request before providing secure access to the home. This ensures you’re communicating directly with an authorized Reszi representative—not an automated system or an unauthorized third party.

By verifying every tour request, we help prevent unauthorized access while providing a safer leasing experience for everyone.

2. Verify the Listing and Rental Price

All Reszi rental homes are listed on our official website, www.reszi.com, as well as trusted rental platforms such as Zillow, Trulia, and HotPads.

For your protection, Reszi does not advertise homes on:

  • Craigslist
  • Facebook Marketplace
  • Lease by Owner

If you find one of our homes advertised on another website, or notice different pricing, photos, or property details, please contact a Reszi Leasing Agent before proceeding. Our team will gladly verify that the listing is legitimate.

3. Apply Securely Through Our Official Website

Reszi accepts rental applications only through our secure online application portal.

We do not accept applications submitted by:

  • Email
  • Paper forms
  • Third-party application services

Applying through our official website ensures your personal information is transmitted securely and reviewed directly by our Leasing Team.

4. Secure Payments Every Step of the Way

Once your application has been approved and your lease has been signed, your Reszi Leasing Agent will guide you through submitting your initial move-in funds, including your security deposit, prorated rent, and first month’s rent (when applicable).

Initial move-in payments are made via wire transfer using instructions provided directly by your verified Reszi Leasing Agent. This secure process helps protect both you and Reszi from payment fraud.

To keep your funds safe:

  • Never make a payment payable to an individual.
  • Never send money through Venmo, Cash App, or other peer-to-peer payment services.
  • Always verify that you’re communicating with a Reszi Leasing Agent before sending any payment.

After you’ve moved into your home, all future rent payments and account activity will be managed securely through the official Reszident Portal.

If anyone requests payment through an unofficial method or before your lease has been approved, please contact Reszi immediately before sending any money.

5. Sign Only Authorized Electronic Lease Agreements

All Reszi lease agreements are sent electronically through our authorized Aptly platform.

You should never receive or sign a lease through text message, social media, or any other unofficial source.

If you’re ever unsure whether a communication or lease document is legitimate, our Customer Service team is happy to verify it before you sign.
